With Manchester City losing to Chelsea on Thursday June 25th 2020, by goal margin of 2- 1, Liverpool FC has emerged as the English Premiership winner for the first time in 30 years, having won it last in 1990 when Kenny Dalglish was in charge as a manager. This title is epic in itself as Liverpool won it with 86 points with 7 matches remaining in the EPL, making it the earliest title win in top-flight history. This therefore follows that Liverpool bested the second place Manchester City with 28 points.
The following statistics made 2019/2020 season more phenomena for Liverpool FC; 86 points this season- most through 31 matches in top-flight history. In January 2019- February 2020; 44- match EPL unbeaten run, which is the 2nd– longest in top- flight history. Also, in October 2019- February 2020; 18 straight EPL wins, which is the joint- longest win streak in top-flight history. Apart from the above history making runs, Liverpool won the 2019 Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. This EPL title also made it 19 top-flight titles won by Liverpool FC, just one behind Manchester United that has won 20 top-flight titles.
Congratulations to Liverpool FC coach-Jurgen Klopp, the management, players, fans and well- wishers. The question then is; do you believe Liverpool will be able to replicate this achievement in 2020/2021 season?
